The Vice Chairman of the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission, Chris Nelson, was recently appointed to the Federal-State Joint Board on Universal Service after receiving the nomination from the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC). The Board is comprised of four state utility regulators along with representatives from the FCC. Commissioner Nelson’s involvement in this position will impact universal service strategies and programs for individuals in communities across the country.
Congratulations to Commissioner Nelson as he takes on yet another leadership role for rural telecommunication companies.
